Nisibis, the church (Baptisterium) of Mar Ya’qoub (IVth c.). It contains the tomb of Bishop Ya’qoub (308-338) the founder of the church and teacher of Mar Ephrem. A greek inscription (359) in the baptisterium indicates the date of the building. In 1865 the Syrian Orthodox took over the buildings. In 2000 excavations were on the way. Next to the church is the mosk of Zayn al-Abidin, which was originaly the church of St. Febronia (IVth c.).
